Irish Cabbage and Potato Soup is easy to make, nourishing, and soothing. It’s not just for St. Patrick’s Day, and you don’t have to be Irish to enjoy it!Jump to Recipe
You already know how much I love soup. To me, it’s the perfect meal – protein and veggies in one bowl, and all I have to do is heat up some leftovers for lunch the next day. I searched for ideas for an Irish soup for St. Patrick’s Day, and saw many versions of Cabbage and Potato Soup. Well, I had to make an AIP/Paleo version!
This soup is super easy, hearty, and gut healing. You need no special equipment, other than a good knife and a soup pot.
There aren’t any special ingredients either. You will need some good bone broth, however, because soup is only as good as the broth, IMO. If you’d like to make your own amazing bone broth, find my recipe and video here.

I hope this soup hits the spot for you, and that it will be part of your cooking repertoire, whether you’re Irish, or just want to be. 🍀😉🍀
I’m wishing you much love and healing!
